Commands

Press the voice button or the right scroll wheel on your steering wheel, wait for the tone, then speak. Your Tesla understands natural language, so you can talk the way you normally would. Here are the commands Austin owners reach for most.

In The Car

Commands are grouped by what they control. Square brackets show where to drop in your own detail, like a place, a song, or a contact.

Navigation

Set a destination, find a stop, or change your route without touching the screen.

Navigate to [address or place]

Routes you there in Tesla Maps and starts guidance.

Take me home / Take me to work

Routes to your saved Home or Work address.

Find nearby [coffee, food, hotels]

Shows nearby places of that type.

Show the Supercharger map

Displays nearby Supercharger locations.

Cancel the route

Ends the active navigation.

Avoid tolls

Toggles the Avoid Tolls setting in navigation.

Climate and Comfort

Tune the cabin, seats, and defrost. Speak plainly: the car understands how you feel, not just exact numbers.

Set the temperature to [number] degrees

Sets the cabin temperature.

I'm cold / I'm hot

Nudges the climate warmer or cooler.

Set the driver seat heater to high

Sets the heated seat level.

Turn on the steering wheel heater

Warms the steering wheel, if equipped.

Turn on the rear defroster

Heats the rear window to clear it.

My feet are cold

Directs climate to warm your feet.

Media and Entertainment

Control music, volume, and apps while you keep your hands on the wheel.

Play [song, artist, or album]

Plays the requested music.

Next track / Previous track

Skips forward or back a track.

Set the volume to [1-10]

Sets the volume to a specific level.

Volume up / Volume down

Raises or lowers the volume a step.

Open [Spotify, Netflix, YouTube]

Launches that app.

Search for [anything]

Runs a search in the browser.

Phone and Messaging

Place calls and send texts through your paired phone, hands-free.

Call [contact name]

Places a call over your paired phone.

Dial [phone number]

Opens the dial pad for a number.

Text [contact name] [message]

Sends a text over your paired phone.

Read my messages

Reads new texts aloud.

Vehicle Controls

Open compartments and manage features. Some commands work only while the car is in Park.

Open the trunk / Open the frunk

Opens the rear or front trunk.

Open the charge port

Opens the charging port.

Open the glovebox

Opens the glovebox.

Fold the mirrors / Unfold the mirrors

Folds the side mirrors, while parked.

Set the wipers to [speed]

Controls the windshield wipers.

Check the tire pressure

Shows tire pressures on screen.

Turn on Sentry Mode / Dog Mode

Enables that mode, while parked.

Jumps the screen to lightspeed with a full-screen starfield warp.

Konami code: Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A

Engages the same Ludicrous warp.

Run ludicrous() in the browser console

Triggers the warp from the developer console.

Type "boombox" or "fart"

Plays a quick horn with a flash of equalizer bars.

Type "summon"

Rolls a little Cybertruck across the bottom of the screen.

Type "42"

Reveals the answer to life, the universe, and everything at your cursor.
