Prohibition on Unauthorized Commercial Activity
Without prior written authorization approved collectively by leadership, the following are prohibited: Selling or pitching at events; Soliciting business through Club platforms; Collecting member contact information for sales outreach; Leveraging Club affiliation for business development; Implying endorsement by the Club. Violations may result in removal from events, digital platforms, leadership roles, or membership.
Protection of Reputation and Brand
The Club name, logo, goodwill, and community trust are protected assets. No individual may: Use the Club name for personal financial gain; Suggest endorsement without written authorization; Misrepresent affiliation for commercial advantage. Unauthorized representation may result in immediate removal.
Controlled Monetization
The Club reserves the right to establish structured and collectively approved commercial partnerships. Any approved commercial engagement must: Be reviewed and documented; Align with Club values; Provide measurable benefit to the Club; Protect the reputation of the organization. No individual leader may independently authorize commercial access for personal gain.
Leadership Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest exists when a leader: Financially benefits from Club relationships; Directs opportunities to themselves or associates; Uses Club authority to influence commercial outcomes; Facilitates introductions for personal gain. Leaders must disclose conflicts immediately and recuse themselves from related decisions. Failure to disclose conflicts may result in removal from leadership or membership. Transparency is mandatory. Self-dealing is prohibited.
Legal Risk Limitation
The Club is a voluntary community organization. To the fullest extent permitted by law: The Club assumes no responsibility for transactions between members and third parties; The Club makes no warranties regarding products or services discussed; Members engage with third parties at their own discretion and risk.
Indemnification
Any individual or entity granted approval for commercial activity agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tesla Owners Club of Austin, its leadership, volunteers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses arising from: Their product or service; Representations made to members; Disputes resulting from commercial interaction. This protection extends to leadership acting in good faith enforcement of this Policy.
Reporting and Enforcement
Violations may be reported confidentially to info@teslaownersaustin.com. Enforcement actions may include: Warning; Removal from events; Suspension from digital platforms; Removal from leadership; Termination of membership. All enforcement decisions are made in the best interest of the Club.
Reservation of Rights
The Club reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time. Participation in the Club constitutes acknowledgment and agreement to comply with this Policy.
